Christmas! ♥

Wow! I haven't made a new post in ages. It's almost been a month! Sorry about that. Well, I guess I have some catching up to do! :)

The Christmas Tree lighting was awesome. I had so much fun!! :) I hope that I can do it again next year! It was fun to get into the whole Christmas spirit. :D

On the last Monday of classes, my ballet class was open for parents to come, so my mom came and watched. She got some good pictures of my dancing, so I'll have to post them up on here soon.

Piano's been going great too! I learned a few Christmas songs, which is LOTS of fun! I got to play "What Child is This?" at a church, when our school choir performed there. I was glad that I could perform it, because I didn't have a Christmas recital to go to, like I usually do. I'm also learning my all time favourite worship song on piano right now. It's called: "Never Let Go" by Matt Redman. You should check it out on Youtube, as it's really amazing. :)

I can't believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow. I'm soooo excited! :D

Well, that's all for now. I'll make sure to make posts more often. It won't take me a month to post the next one. (hopefully)

Loving my pointe shoes!

On Sunday, my mom and I did the big job of sewing on the ribbons and elastics on the pointe shoes. It's lot's of work, but now I can dance in my pointe shoes! YAY! I L♥VE my pointe shoes! They are much better for me than my last ones. I can get up on the tips much easier. :)

They're really pretty too! :D I'm excited for Thursday, because it will be my first class with them. I think that my dance teacher will be very impressed. My mom says that they look better on my feet than my old ones!

So, yeah. That's all for now! I just wanted to share my excitement with you. :)

New pointe shoes!!!

Yesterday I got new pointe shoes! It's so exciting! They're called Capezio Tiffanys. They're really pretty! I can't dance around in them yet though, my dance teacher has to approve them first, before sewing on the ribbons and elastics, in case they're not good for me. If we had to return them, we couldn't return them with the ribbons and elastics on them! And you can't dance in pointe shoes without the ribbons and elastics, otherwise they'll just fall of your feet!

I'm so excited to dance in them!!! :) These pointe shoes seem to fit me better than my last ones, so I'm guessing that my dance teacher will approve them! :)

Ok, just a bit ago I watched this amazing video on Youtube of how pointe shoes are made. Type pointe shoes in the Youtube search bar, and it should come up. It's so amazing! I really understand why pointe shoes are pricey, seeing that!

Dance.

Wow. It's crazy to think that I'm on my 8th year of dance. Never once, in all those years have I ever been sick of it.

I just ADORE dancing. It's such a huge part of my life. If I hadn't ever asked my parents if I could go in ballet when I was little, my life would've been completely different.

I'm not sure what you think about dance, whether you think it's amazing (like how I think), or whether you think it's just a waste of time, and there's no point to it. Well.... if you think there's no point to it, you're wrong. First of all, it can be used to worship God. I've actually choreographed and then performed dances for church a couple of times, and I will in the future too! :) Also, dance keeps you fit, and, well.... it's FUN! So much fun! When I'm dancing, I often smile, not just because I'm told to, because you need expression when performing, but because I'm enjoying myself, and I'm so grateful that I'm in dance! :)

Everyone has those few special activities that they just love. One of mine is DEFINETLY dance! ♥

Christmas Already??

I've posted one collage of me playing piano, that I made of the family photos that we did. I tried posting another picture, but it was taking forever to load, so I'll try again some other time.

I've been doing lots of pianos songs, and they're all so fun! I'm learning a lot of worship songs for praise team at school, I'm playing songs from The Royal Conservatory, (which are very beautiful, an there's lots of classical, familiar pieces, which I enjoy playing), and I also just started Christmas songs! I know, it's crazy to think that I'm already doing Christmas, but in music, you have to start early for Christmas, so you have time to practice your songs!

Also, another thing about Christmas, in our Company Ballet class we're doing a dance to the song "Let it Snow" which I'm sure you know that song! :) We're going to perform it at the Christmas Tree lighting! I'm very excited about that!

YAY!

Yipee! I got one of the lead roles in my Musical Theatre dance! I'm very excited about that! I'm going to be a big, weird, and bald uncle, Uncle Fester! That's right... I getta' wear a bald cap! haha! Plus, we're going to but pillows in my costume, so I'll be fatter. :) I'm very excited!

Well, this isn't a very long post, but I wanted to share that with you!

Family Photos/ Pointe

Today we had family photos, which was lots of fun! We haven't had family photos in years!! :)The photographer got some shots of me playing on the piano, so once we get the photos (which will be in about 2 weeks), I'll post some of them on this blog!! For our photos, we got some shots at home, then we went over to by the mission bridge, do that we had the bridge in the background! We got lots of fun, neat shots! I'm so excited to see them!

Changing the topic now. The last few pointe classes, I've realized that my pointe shoes are getting too small! Uh oh! That's not too good. They're quite pricey. Plus, I'll have to break them in, all over again! Don't get me wrong though... I love pointe! It's such a neat, cool thing; going on the tips of your toes! I just feel bad that my parents have to pay so much for a pair of shoes, that last me for about a year, though. Hopefully I won't grow out of my next ones as fast! At least I don't go through a pair every month, like some really serious dancers!!

Company Ballet... Pirates of the Carribean

Well, I haven't added a post for a while, so I thought I'd add one! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Anyways, as I have mentioned before, our company ballet dance is Pirates of The Carribean. It is loads of fun! We're entering in the demi-character section for competition. For ballet competitions, you can either enter demi-character, or classical. I've entered demi-character before, and I find it much more fun, because you use lots of facial expressions, there's a story line, and the judges aren't as nit-picky about all the little details in the dancing.

So, I'm really, really excited!!! This is gonna' be the best ballet dance ever! :)

Anyways, back to the Pianos and Pirouettes topics.

 This year, for school I'm on the Praise Team. It's lots of fun!! I play piano for some of the songs, and sing some songs, which if very exciting!! So far, I've played Mighty to Save on piano in chapel, and I'm going to play I lift my eyes up in the next chapel!!! It's so much fun! Now my piano lessons will be put to use! :)

For Company ballet, as I've mentioned before, we're doing Pirates of the Carribean! It's so much fun! Half of us are pirates, and half of us are sea maidens. I'm a pirate, and I'm going to have a sword.(don't worry, it's plastic)

Ballet... a Wonderful Thing!

Today was a busy, busy day. First of all, I had school, then right after I had volleyball practice, until 4:30. Then I had to go home, have a bite to eat, then head over to ballet class!

Ballet was lots of fun today! This year I'm doing Intermediate Foundation. Once you're done Grade 5 ballet, you can either take Grade 6, or Intermediate Foundation. Intermediate Foundation is the more serious one, and it's the one you take if you're more serious in ballet.

It's loads of fun! I just love ballet so much! Sometimes, while I'm dancing, I just think to myself how fun dance is, and how much I'm glad that I'm in it!! I'm so glad that when I was little, I asked my parents to put me in ballet! (I pronounced it ba-la-lay at the time.)

I'm also taking a Company Ballet class this year, and we're doing a dance to a Pirates of the Carribean song, which is going to be really fun! We're going to compete that dance!

Dance is going to be lots of fun this year! Not only am I in ballet, I'm also in a competetive Musical Theatre class... and it's SO much fun too! I love going all out in theatre, with lots of expression! Last year, at the recital, I actually got the Theatre Award, and I got a trophy!

Piano this year

I am in Grade 3 in the Royal Conservatory for piano. My cousin teaches me piano, and she is really great at it! I've done 2 piano exams in the past, and they were lots of fun!

The songs that I've started playing for Grade 3 are, Minuet in G major, by Christian Petzold, which is a very familiar piece. I'm also playing a fun song called clowns... it's upbeat, and sure does sound like there's a clown fooling around when the song is played! That song is written by Dmitri Kabalevsky. These two songs are both in my Grade 3 repetoire book.

I've just started another piece, which is in my Piano Studies book, and it's called Study in a Minor, by Cornelius Gurlitt. It seems like it's going to be a really pretty piece!

I'm really excited about piano this year, it's going to be a great year!
